Julie has over 20 years experience writing in a range of modes: science, business, fundraising, advertising and creative fiction.

Her awareness of the need for benefit-driven copy coupled with creative writing and a broad knowledge base, enable her to bring a diversity of experience to any writing project. Whether the need is for a conventional or a creative approach, she can adapt her writing style and tone to fit the brief. Julie also writes creative fiction and, in 2008, had a story published in Sleepers Almanac 4 and Best Australian Stories 2008. Another was Highly Commended in the Fellowship of Australian Writers National Literary Awards in March 2008.

She has a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from Monash University (First Class Honours in Pharmacology), a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Melbourne (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology) and was a Research Fellow at the Austin Research Institute and the University of Melbourne. She has also completed the highly regarded Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing at RMIT (Melbourne).

Julie is a SCUBA diving instructor, a former swimming coach and also loves cycling, weight training, running and snowboarding. She has travelled extensively and often practices at least one of these activities while away.
